Game Changers for Two Bridges – 2013
2013 was the first year of the Sustainable Urbanization: New Designs for the Future City class at the Summer Program for High School Students at Columbia University. The focus region of the class that year was the Two Bridges area of New York. Students were placed into one of nine groups and tackled different design challenges, all of which were focused around urban problems specific to the area. Ranging from food to garbage to flooding mitigation, the projects gave students the opportunity to design sustainable solutions that could also be applied in a broader urban situation.
