Filiberto Viteri Chávez

Spatial Analysis Associate, Urban Design Lab June 2015 – April 2016

Filiberto Viteri is a licensed architect in Ecuador, having graduated with a professional Degree in Architecture from the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil in 2006. He received his Master of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a Fulbright scholarship in 2010 and was awarded with the Ecuadorian Government’s Universities of Excellence Fellowship to study Urban Design at Columbia University where he received his Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design with honors in 2015.

He has worked independently as a consultant and designer, having pursued a wide range of projects for the private and public sectors in Ecuador, where he is a founding member of Spacia Arch Lab and El Selectivo – Colectivo de Arquitectura. In addition to his professional work, he has been Assistant Professor at the Catholic University in Guayaquil, where he also served as Director of the Institute of Habitat and Design IPUR. In this capacity he initiated research projects oriented toward the public space aspects of community development, as well as education systems connected to architecture, design and urbanism.

Currently Filiberto is working at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, where he is the Director of the Institute of Hábitat and Design IPUR. Read more at www2.ucsg.edu.ec/ipur.
