Urban Heat Island – Green Roofs Initiative, West Harlem
The Urban Design Lab (UDL) has been working with WE ACT for Environmental Justice to define the feasibility of creating a corridor of green roofs along 125th Street. This research describes the environmental issues in Harlem that green roofs could address. It also outlines the most efficient and cost effective way to develop green roofs in the local building stock. The collaboration also develops a pilot curriculum for students in schools where green roofs are built
